Meet Candice Ramsey

I’m a Stress Resilience Consultant, ICF-certified coach, former psychotherapist, and the founder of Mahogany Coaching and Consulting. I help leaders and organizations stop running on stress and start leading from a place that’s rooted, resourced, and sustainable.

But that’s what I do. Here’s why I do it.

I Know What It Feels Like to Be Successful and Still Feel Like Something’s Missing

I’m a disciplined Army veteran. A corporate leader. A woman who spent years doing everything right—building a career in consulting, collecting certifications, taking on leadership positions, showing up for my family—and still going to bed at night with this quiet, persistent feeling that I should feel something more.

More connected to why I was in my chosen career. More clarity on why my accomplishments didn’t feel like enough. More understanding of why I kept reaching for the next thing without ever being able to name what I was actually looking for.

I was running on stress and calling it ambition. And I was really good at it. Until I wasn’t.

My breakthrough came when I turned the same tools I’d been using to develop other people’s leadership—assessments, frameworks, clinical insight—on myself. For the first time, I got serious about understanding my own nervous system, my own stress patterns, and the ways I’d been operating from survival mode while performing like everything was fine.

Everything changed.

I stopped trying to shove myself into spaces that drained me. I started understanding my body’s stress signals instead of overriding them. I learned to lead from a grounded place instead of a reactive one. And I realized that the gap between who I was and who I wanted to be wasn’t a character flaw—it was a nervous system issue, a pattern issue, and a self-awareness issue that nobody had ever given me the tools to address.

I built those tools. And then I built a business to give them to other people.

Why “Mahogany”

Mahogany trees are rare and precious. Genuine mahogany wood is increasingly scarce in our world, and since rarity always adds value, these trees are incredibly special.

But here’s what makes them extraordinary: mahogany trees grow the deepest root systems. They withstand storms that topple other trees. Their strength isn’t in their height or their size—it’s in what’s underneath. It’s in the roots.

Imagine for a moment that there was only one mahogany tree left. A singular specimen with the distinctive beauty and signature strength of this natural wonder.

That’s how I see you.

Your background, your talent, your perspective, your resilience—they make you one of a kind. And the work I do isn’t about making you into someone different. It’s about helping you build roots deep enough that no storm can take you out.

I see you. I’ve got you. And I’ll help you find your way through.

From My Breakthrough to Your Framework

My own transformation didn’t happen through positive thinking or a productivity hack. It happened because I finally addressed the whole picture—my mind, my body, and my sense of purpose. That’s what was missing from every leadership development program I’d ever been through, and it’s what I set out to build.

The Mindful Self-Awareness™ Approach is my philosophy—the belief that leadership wellbeing lives in three interconnected domains: mental and emotional health, physical wellbeing, and spiritual alignment. Most programs address one. I address all three.

The R.O.O.T. Leadership Method™ is the framework I built from that philosophy. It walks leaders through four phases: Regulate the Nervous System, Observe the Stress Patterns, Optimize Your Energy, and Thrive as a Rooted Leader. It’s the journey from reactive to rooted—and it’s the backbone of everything I do.

The Z.E.N. Methodology is the practice my clients use at every stage of that journey: Zero In on your stress, Expand your toolkit, Navigate forward with clarity. It’s the repeatable process that turns the framework into a daily practice.

My work spans emotional intelligence, functional breathwork, nervous system regulation, meditation, and somatic practices—because stress doesn’t just live in your head. And you can’t think your way out of something your body is holding onto.

The Background Behind the Work

I didn’t come to this work from one direction. I came from several—and that convergence is what makes my approach different from a coach who only coaches, or a therapist who only does therapy, or a speaker who only inspires.

Clinical Foundation: Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I bring therapeutic depth to coaching work—understanding stress responses, relational dynamics, and the patterns beneath the patterns.

Coaching Expertise: ICF-Certified Coach (ACC) with specialized training in Energy Leadership, MBTI, and Enneagram. I don’t just motivate—I equip.

Assessment Certified: EQ-i (Emotional Intelligence) and ARSENAL (Stress Management) certified. I use clinically validated tools to create baselines and track real progress.

Wellness Practitioner: Certified in functional breathwork and mindfulness meditation teaching. Trained in Reiki, Qigong, and sound healing. My toolkit goes where most consultants can’t.

Leadership Experience: Army veteran. Corporate leader. Speaker and facilitator who has worked with executives, founders, and leadership teams across industries.

I understand the pressure you’re under because I’ve carried it. And I’ve built a methodology that’s rigorous enough for the boardroom and deep enough for the human being sitting in the chair.

The Mission

Mahogany Coaching and Consulting exists to disrupt the way leaders think about stress, resilience, and what it means to show up whole. Through the Mindful Self-Awareness™ Approach, we help leaders and organizations stop performing wellness and start practicing it.

We’re on a mission to improve the lives of 50,000 individuals by 2035 by helping them build strong roots.

A world where leaders don’t have to break down before they learn to ‘be well.’ Where stress resilience isn’t a luxury reserved for those who can afford to slow down, but a practice embedded in how we lead, work, and live. Where being rooted is the standard, not the exception.
